Surface Type: paved trail and paved bike lane

Miles: SE Cedar Rapids 2.7 miles. Marion segment 1.5 miles

Trail Description: This trail is a paved, urban trail. The trailhead is located near Shaver Road NE and H Ave NE 27th Street, along Cedar Lake.  The trail begins at Cedar Lake and follows a bicycle lane on H Ave. NE from Shaver Rd. to Daniels Park. The paved dedicated trail begins at Daniels Park and continues northeast through Mount Mercy University Athletic Complex to 29th St. NE, under the underpass of First Avenue, towards 33rd Street Drive SE.  After the link under construction the trail winds through Thomas Park to the GWT.

Features & Sites: Parking is available at Cedar Lake. A restroom and bicycle repair station are located at Cedar Lake Trailhead. Playgrounds are located along the trail at schools. This trail has an underpass! In order to more safely cross under the busy traffic of First Avenue, a trail-only underpass was completed in 2021 with LED lighting. Pedestrian crosswalks with button-activated flashing light crossings are located at 27th Street NE and 29th Street NE. Ball diamonds and green space are located at the halfway point of the trail. Multiple restaurants are along the trail.

  CeMar Trail  

Currently a total of 2.7 miles from Cedar Lake to 33rd Street Drive SE, through Mt Calvary Cemetery, and 1.5 miles from near Hwy 100 in Marion to the intersection with the Grant Wood Trail and the Boyson Trail.  Once construction of a 3.9 mile segment off the trail from 33rd Street Drive SE in Cedar Rapids, through Faulkes Woods to Hwy 100 in Marion is completed, the two sections of trail will connect.
